Orient Overseas (International) Limited (OOIL) is paying a huge dividend after record 2021 profit at its container line division OOCL.

The Hong Kong-listed company, controlled by China’s Cosco Group, said net profit was $7.1bn last year, against $903m in 2020.

Shareholders will bank 70% of this as a $4.99bn dividend.

Revenue jumped to $16.8bn from $8.2m and liftings edged up to 7.6m
