New York-listed Danaos Corp on Wednesday expanded its 65-ship fleet by six vessels bought for $260m in total.

Athens-based Danaos did not identify the ships, other than to say that they consist of a 5,466-teu sextet built at Hanjin Subic Bay shipyard with an average age of 6.8 years.

The acquisition is “immediately accretive” to the company, Danaos chief executive officer John Coustas said in a press release.
