Containership lessor Global Ship Lease (GSL) is expanding its fleet with the acquisition of four 6,000-teu vessels that bring its spend on post-panamax containerships to $100m this year.
The New York-listed containership lessor is acquiring vessels that are “simply too good to ignore”, chief executive Ian Webber said, although he noted that the company's main focus remains refinancing an expensive bond.
