Matson is not too worried about the market unpredictability caused by the ongoing US-China trade war.

The New York-listed company welcomes it.

"Of course, there's a significant degree of uncertainty, and Matson thrives in chaos," chief executive Matt Cox said during the company's second-quarter earnings call.

"We don't say it to boast, but we have the fastest service."

Matson sails 18 boxships ranging from 350 teu to 3,220 teu on lines linking Hawaii and the US Pacific Coast to China, Japan, South Pacific, Guam, Micronesia and Alaska.
