Navios Maritime Containers is expecting the Wuhan coronavirus to delay Asian charterers' return to the market after Chinese New Year by an entire month.

The virus has infected thousands and killed hundreds in China as it slowly makes its way around the globe, striking fear in markets worldwide — including shipping.

The charterers usually resume activity in early February after Chinese New Year but will probably come back later this year since the coronavirus has extended the holiday by two weeks, chief executive Angeliki Frangou said.
