Nigeria is planning to buy four cargo vessels for a new intra-African service.

The Vanguard daily said the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) are in talks over ships for a test-run of a project called Sealink Shipping.

The new shipping company is already registered, with its headquarter in Lagos.

The vessels will carry out regional cabotage trade.
