Japan’s top three public shipowners posted substantially improved results Thursday on the back of a much-improved performance at Ocean Network Express (ONE).

MOL saw one of the biggest turnarounds with its interim profit coming in at JPY 25.6bn ($235.6m) compared with just JPY 5.7bn a year ago.

At NYK and K Line the turnarounds were just as impressive as both companies turned around substantial year-ago losses to return to the black.
