Costa Cruises' flagship Costa Smeralda sustained minimal damage on Friday after alliding with a pier in the Port of Savona, north-western Italy.

The Italian cruise line has also delayed sailings further in response to Italy's Covid-19 restrictions.

The 6,522-berth, 2019-built ship — the largest in Costa's fleet of 12 ships — was moving alongside the pier when a lifeboat struck a dockside crane and became almost completely detached from the vessel, as shown in video below taken by Italian website Savona News.
