P&O Cruises Australia has sold a vessel six months ahead of schedule after a first buyer went bust amid parent Carnival Corp shedding of older assets.

The Carnival brand offloaded the 1,258-berth Pacific Aria (built 1993) to Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) in November.

P&O planned to deliver the ship to the Global Maritime Group subsidiary in April, but the deal fell through after CMV went out of business amid the pandemic.
