Stena's controlling Olsson family have donated a version of the famous bronze sculpture The Knotted Gun to the city of Belfast.

The owners of ferry company Stena Line contributed the art as part of its work with the Non-Violence Project Foundation (NVPF).

Belfast joins a number of cities including New York, Tokyo, Stockholm, Cape Town and Berlin in hosting a permanent copy of a work first created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reutersward for his friend John Lennon after the former Beatle was shot and killed outside his home in New York in 1980.
