There is a steadily growing list of unemployed cruiseships and drillships anchored in the Gulf of Elefsina in Greece.

Most are awaiting a beaching slot at the Turkish ship breaking centre of Aliaga.

Another cruiseship — the 54,800-gt Marella Dream (built 1986) — joined this collection of redundant ships at the weekend.

Sources in the Turkish ship recycling sector said the vessel will stay in cold lay-up until the spring, when it will be taken to Turkey for recycling.
