Turkish ship recylcers continue to acquire passenger tonnage as reports emerged this week of the sale of an elderly Greek ferry and a former cruise ship last used as offshore accommodation in the oil and gas sector.

These smaller passenger ships were the bread and butter of the Turkish ship recycling sector until the Covid-19 pandemic sent a deluge of large cruise ships to Aliaga as their owners sought to recycle them at EU approved yards.
