A 90-year-old NYK museum ship is moving with the times in a switch to renewable power.

The Hikawa Maru (built 1930) is moored in front of Yamashita Park in Yokohama.

The Japanese shipowner said it is now being powered by electricity sourced from renewable energy, mainly generated by the Hibaritaira Wind Power Plant.

"This power plant is covered by Japan’s Feed-in Tariff Scheme for Renewable Energy (FIT), thus ensuring that the electricity is from 100% renewable energy sources," NYK added.
