Evergeen chairman Chang Yung-Fa has been awarded Italy’s highest honour by prime minister Romano Prodi.
The ceremony for the presentation of the Knight of the Grand Cross (Cavaliere di Gran Croce) took place at Prodi’s official residence in Rome this week.
It recognises significant contributions in fields such as economics, literature, society, humanity and public affairs.
Chang, who is the first Asian entrepreneur to win the award, was granted honorary citizenship of Italy in 2002.
