Wartsila, one of the world's two leading marine diesel engine builders, has been rocked by an industrial espionage scandal that has seen the theft of confidential information.
"It has turned out that information about Wartsila's company secrets has reached the hands of outsiders," said Wartsila Finland president Heikki Miilumäki in a statement.
Last Wednesday Vassa-based Wartsila first revealed that it had been the victim of industrial espionage, but remained tight-lipped while the hunt for the internal spy was carried out.
