Diamantis Diamantidis is emerging as the biggest buyer so far among the several suitors swarming around the sale of 26 vessels from the bankrupt fleet of Greek peer Grigoris Callimanopulos.

Market sources familiar with the bank-driven sale say that Diamantidis has spent close to $130m to buy five former Toisa vessels – three kamsarmaxes and two suezmaxes. A memorandum of agreement for one vessel has already been signed and advance payments have been made on the other four, with the deal expected to be in the final straight.
