Germany’s AO Schiffahrt has emerged as the buyer of a supramax bulker sold at online auction.
The Alexander Oetker-led shipowner purchased the 58,790-dwt Tschaikowsky (built 2008) through internet auction site VesselBid for about $14.2m.
The Tsuneishi Cebu-built vessel was bought from Borealis Finance, an investment vehicle belonging to interests that acquired the Tschaikowsky in 2015 for around $11.2m.
