It has booked the 82,200-dwt Iron Lindrew (built2007) on a four to seven month contract worth $8,500 daily, according to theBaltic Exchange.
The rate compares with the $6,400 daily available onan improving spot market right now.
It is, however, below the $12,000 floor written intothe vessel’s last indexed period charter.
As TradeWinds reported yesterday Glencore hired Excel’s82,300-dwt Iron Manolis (built 2007) and Andriaki’s 76,600-dwt Ariana (built2005) on five to seven month deals.
