New York-based Foremost Maritime Corp has upped its order tally for bulker newbuildings at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS).
The James Chao-controlled shipping company, which signed up for a pair of capesize bulkers early this year with the state-owned shipyard, has now doubled its 180,000-dwt newbuilding order to four.
In addition, it has booked two newcastlemax bulkers.
Its total investment in newbuildings at the Chinese yard is estimated to be around $275m.
