Pavimar has concluded its first vessel purchase of the year.

The Ismini Panayiotides-led company has bought the 78,000-dwt Japanese-controlled panamax bulker Lake Dahlia (built 2009) for $13.8m, taking its managed fleet to 16 ships.

The Sanoyas Shipbuilding-constructed Lake Dahlia has just passed special survey, which could explain what is seen as a fairly strong price for the vessel.

Some brokers said Pavimar also bought the sistership Triton Gannet (built 2009), but TradeWinds is told this is not the case.
