China's Quanzhou Ansheng has inked deals for 12 new containerships.

It has placed orders for four 640-teu vessels each at domestic yards Fujian Southeast, Fujian Mawei and Nantong Xiangyu, according to Clarksons.

Eight of these are priced at CNY 65m and four at CNY 66m for a total of CNY 784m ($121m).

The Fujian-based coastal operator has a fleet of 38 ships, largely container units.
