Qatari aggregates trader MFH is purchasing two older panamaxes, according to well-placed sources in the Asian dry bulk sector.

TradeWinds understands that MFH has signed a memorandum of understanding to buy the 77,700-dwt Energy Midas and 77,800-dwt Energy Prosperity (both built 1998) for an enbloc price of $15.5m, which broking sources said is in line with their market value.

The Panamanian-registered duo is officially owned by Fiorenza, a Singapore-registered brass-plate entity with a listed address in the offices of a corporate advisory services company, and no known phone number.
