Australia's biggest private shipping company is reportedly up for sale.

Macquarie Capital has been brought in to find a buyer for Sea Swift, which is owned by CHAMP Ventures and Toll Holdings, the Financial Review said.

The shareholders want more than AUD 300m ($212.58m) for the business, it was claimed.

It is listed with a fleet of 19 vessels, including ro-ros, general cargoships, tugs, an MPP, a research vessel and landing craft.
