Global maritime clusters may want to look to a Dutch example if they want to foster entrepreneurs by getting ideas off the drawing board and into the marketplace more quickly.

Rotterdam-based Port XL, which was set up in 2015, is the world’s only “start-up accelerator” focused on the maritime businesses in and around ports.

Its main target is start-ups with ideas applicable to companies involved in energy, chemicals, refineries, transport, logistics and ships, among others.
