Shipping lender HSH Nordbank has placed a "significantly over-subscribed" EUR 500m ($577m) bond in Germany.

The debenture, known as a Pfandbrief, matures over three and a half years.

It was secured mostly by loans on commercial properties in Germany and pays fixed interest of 0.25%.

The order was placed by a syndicate also comprising Credit Agricole, Commerzbank, Goldman Sachs and Natixis.
