UK's MCA increases fees for first time in more than 10 years

The UK's coast guard is to raise shipping fees for the first time in more than 10 years.

The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) said the hike would give it the flexibility to invest further in the services it provides to the maritime sector.

The ship survey price will increase in two stages: from the current £94 ($122) per hour to £120 per hour in November 2018; and then from £120 to £147 in November 2019.
