Shipping Corp of India (SCI) has estimated repair costs at INR 778m ($10.88m) for a VLCC that suffered an explosion last year.
The 316,000-dwt Desh Vaibhav (built 2005) was hit by the blast off Oman in August. It is valued at $31.71m by VesselsValue.
SCI booked a repair cost of INR 264m in its third quarter to 31 December.
This has been classed as fully recoverable from the hull insurer.
