Shipping stocks ended up in the green today amid the Trump administration's decision to delay tariffs on certain consumer goods coming from China.

The US Trade Representative pushed back to 15 December a 10% tax on items that include cell phones, laptop computers, video game consoles, computer monitors and certain apparel.

This latest move comes after US on 1 August threatened to place the tax on $300bn-worth of Chinese-made consumer goods by September, thus taxing all imports from the country.
