Newly formed AG Shipping & Energy has purchased its first MR2 product tanker in what it hopes will be a long line of acquisitions.
Company founding director and head of trading Mangish Kadokar confirmed to TradeWinds that it is the new owner of the 50,500-dwt Phoenix (built 2006). Brokers reported in early March that Greece’s Empire Navigation had sold the MR2 to unidentified buyers for about $15m.
