US investment giant BlackRock has announced a major holding in John Fredriksen-controlled tanker company Frontline.

The move follows a similar investment in Fredriksen’s bulker giant Golden Ocean Group in September.

A filing to the Oslo Stock Exchange on 1 November revealed BlackRock had amassed a stake of 5.13% — a slice worth $153m.

But on Wednesday, a correction was issued by the fund, saying that “following identification of correct issued shares, holding remains below 5% in aggregate”.
