Clarksons has become embroiled in the wave of investor anger over excessive executive pay, suffering a major shareholder rebellion.

Close to 26% of its shareholders voted against the UK shipbroker’s remuneration report, with a similar number opposing its remuneration policy.

Clarksons chief executive Andi Case received pay and bonuses totaling £3.7m ($4.7m) in 2016, according to the company’s annual report.
