Norway's Noryards BMV has filed for bankruptcy after failing to resurrect its finances.
It will lay off 96 workers as a result, domestic media said.
CEO Pal Grimsrud said: "The staff is aware of the situation we've been in. Most are already laid off because of the situation we are in.
"I hope for all employees that there will be new activity at the yard, it is best for everyone."
