New York-listed shipping stocks took a dip last week after record gains in the first half of the year, but they are likely to be unaffected by an initiative from the US government to control shipping costs.

That was the take from Jefferies lead shipping analyst Randy Giveans, who termed the recent executive order by US President Joe Biden "more bark than bite with very limited impact to international shipping companies".
