At least eight shipowners are in the running to order a pioneering large LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV) newbuilding that would serve CMA CGM’s nine large containerships against a time charter to energy major Total.
Those following the process say those submitting offers for the 18,600-cbm-plus LNGBV include three companies — Dutch owner Anthony Veder, Bernhard Schulte and Stolt-Nielsen — who have already contracted LNG bunker tonnage for project business.
