New US liquefaction producer Dominion Energy’s Cove Point LNG plant has started to ramp up its production as an LNG carrier berths at its Maryland plant and a second vessel sets course for the facility.

Shell’s 136,985-cbm Gemmata (built 2004) entered Chesapeake Bay at the weekend and moved onto one of the plant’s berths Tuesday.

Global LNG flow forecaster iGIS/LNG said the feed gas flow from the liquefaction plant started on 18 February and, while there have been fluctuations and turn-downs in this in the interim, LNG production started to climb this week.
