South Korean shipowner Sinokor Merchant Marine has upped its LNG carrier fleet to 15 ships with the purchase of two more secondhand vessels.

Industry sources close to the ships confirmed it was Sinokor Merchant Marine that purchased the 138,000-cbm British Merchant and British Innovator (both built 2003).

The steam turbine vessels, which are both nearing the end of their charters with energy major BP, are each understood to have been sold at a price in the mid to low-$40m range.
