Nikolas Tsakos has placed growth in the LNG market at the top of the list as Tsakos Energy Navigation moves towards a target fleet of six LNG carriers by 2020.

The New York-listed shipowner has just completed a 15-newbuilding programme, which its chief executive described as a “very big bite”.

“As soon as we digest, then of course our appetite will start again, again only for vessels with an employment or second-hand ships,” Tsakos said on the company’s fourth quarter conference call.
