Kunlun Holding is said to be buying a Japanese-controlled VLGC in what appears to be a replacement for a ship sold for demolition last week.
European brokers said the Chinese shipowner has purchased the 78,462-cbm Toyosu Maru (built 1997) from Japan’s Iino Marine Service for $19.5m, which is in line with expectations.
A source familiar with the sale and purchase deal said Iino had sold the veteran Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI)-built LPG carrier because of its age.
