A new Baltic-based LNG production plant is expected to export a first cargo within weeks as Russia starts to supply its first volumes aimed at the LNG bunkering sector.

Russian energy company Novatek, which is working with Gazprombank on the project, has started production at its Cryogas-Vysotsk LNG plant. The 660,000-tonne-per-annum facility is 150 kilometres (93 miles) north-west of St Petersburg on the Baltic Sea coast.
