China’s Shandong Marine Energy is looking to expand in the growing LNG sector, after its earlier successful push into LPG.

The energy trading concern — a sister company to Shandong Shipping Corp — has signed an agreement to work with South Korea’s DSME on LNG carrier and floating storage regasification unit projects.

Bao Jianying, chairman of Shandong Marine Group — the parent of Shandong Marine Energy — met DSME chief executive Sung Geun Lee at the end of March to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the initiative.
