Portuguese energy company Galp Energia is in talks with shipowners for a single LNG carrier to take on charter.

LNG market sources said the company requires one ship by 2022 to lift the new volumes it has signed up to buy from the US.

The Portuguese company appears to be in talks with owners of existing tonnage on its requirement, suggesting it could take a vessel from the trading market or a speculatively-ordered newbuilding for the business.
