Golar LNG Partners is putting its 135,000-cbm LNG carrier Golar Mazo (built 2000) into cold lay-up after the vessel clocked up idle time.

The Nasdaq-listed company said both of the ship’s boilers have been switched off and preservation works have been completed, but Covid-19 restrictions prevented the crew from disembarking until mid-May.

As a result of this delay, the company said operating costs for the vessel will not reduce until later in the second quarter.
