JERA imports debut Cheniere LNG cargo

JERA, the Japanese energy giant, says it has received its first LNG cargo from Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal in the US.

The docking of Teekay’s 173,000–cbm Oak Spirit (built 2016) also marks the first arrival in Japan of LNG produced in the contiguous US.

JERA, a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric Power, said the vessel arrived at the Joetsu LNG terminal facing the Sea of Japan on Friday.
