K Line is about to exit the midsize segment for LPG carriers.
The Japanese shipping giant is has sold 38,000-cbm Nordic River (built 2007) for $20.5m, TradeWinds is told.
The move comes after TradeWinds reported last week that the company had sold the DSME-built sistership Viking River (built 2007) to Nikolaos Vafias for the same price.
The Nordic River has reportedly gone to Naviera Transoceanica (Navitranso) in an off-market deal. The Peruvian shipowner is listed with two medium-sized LPG carriers built in 1996 and 1997.
K Line has had both ships on charters to Yara of Norway, but those contracts are expiring.
