Charter rates for LNG carriers have increased on the back of a rise in vessel enquiries after several weeks in freefall.

Early this week, brokers were quoting daily rates for tri-fuel diesel-electric vessels in the $40,000s, with some nudging these up to $50,000 and beyond.

Two-stroke gas-injection vessels were up at $60,000 per day and rising, they said, while steam turbine vessels were earning day rates in the $30,000s across all basins.
