Spot charter rates for LNG carriers are continuing to climb despite a pushback from charterers.

Market interest is focusing on reports that Indian Oil Corp has paid $120,000 per day to fix a 155,000-cbm, dual-fuel diesel-electric (DFDE) vessel controlled by BP.

Brokers said the LNG carrier is the British Sapphire (built 2008), which is due for delivery in the US in early December.
