Newbuilding prices for LNG carriers are being marked down by shipbrokers as new enquiries dry up and project business slows.

Fearnleys LNG has lowered its price to $185m for a two-stroke, 174,000-cbm vessel, while Clarksons is holding its estimate at $186m and Howe Robinson is pegging the price at about $185m, depending on specifications.

Prices for some high-spec vessels were quoted at more than $190m last year, in a busy period for newbuilding orders.
