Orders from shipowners contracting newbuildings during April were almost equally split between methanol and LNG, according to classification society DNV’s monthly figures.
DNV global decarbonisation director Jason Stefanatos said there were 24 orders placed for methanol-fuelled vessels last month, with 14 of these for container ships and nine for ro-pax vessels.
