Malaysia’s MISC Berhad has taken delivery of the first of six VLECs it is building in South Korea under long-term time charter contracts with Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical Co.

The ship, delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), is the largest of its type to be built so far with a 98,000-cbm cargo capacity.

The vessel, which has been named Seri Everest, will operate worldwide under a 15-year charter party with Zhejiang.
