LNG cargo buyers are starting to push sellers to bear LNG carbon-neutral cargo costs in medium to long-term contracts, according to Poten & Partners.

Sophie Tan, head of Asia Pacific business intelligence at Poten, said LNG buyers are becoming concerned about signing long-term supply deals beyond 2030.

Speaking on a webinar on Wednesday, she said the buyers think carbon costs will rise and believe using renewables might be a better way to circumvent these.
